T. Aisha Edwards, LMHC

T. Aisha Edwards, LMHC (xey/xem/xer) is a somatic trauma therapist, enthusiastic about integrating mind, body and spirit in holistic mental health care. Xey understands that painful life experiences not only undermine our quality of life, but also our capacity for connection and our physical health.

Often, folks seeking mental health care feel heard but they don’t feel better. Those with trauma need more than talk therapy. Aisha uses approaches informed by interpersonal neuroscience, traditional Chinese medicine, somatic psychology, western/indigenous herbalism and African shamanic healing to support clients and help them overcome the barriers between talk and healing.

Because healing has a special meaning for those living with intergenerational trauma, Aisha’s heart mission is to address and unburden the impacts of socialized oppressions for BIPOC, Queer/Trans and neurodivergent folks. Xey is dedicated to culturally responsive treatment across the intersectional spectrum.

Our generation’s task is remembering how to see and hear the embodied truth that Empire stole: each body carries purpose, innate medicine to contribute to holding the balance of community together and is inextricably interwoven with the earth.
