Embody The Unbroken

Somatics, trauma-informed wellness, decolonization and social and health justice shape Aisha’s facilitation and speaking engagements. Xe has experience facilitating and teaching with professional, justice, arts, and educational organizations. Whether for a singular speaking engagement or for a workshop or inservice, xe prioritizes experiential and somatic learning alongside didactic learning.

Aisha draws upon xer personal background as a Black, neurodivergent, first generation, gender fluid person, xer professional background as a somatic trauma therapist and xer spiritual background as an animist, ritualist and spirit worker to develop multi-faceted, out-of-the-box curriculum.

Have you participated in a session with Aisha before? Please consider filling out this survey so we can assess and improve!

Speaking or Teaching Engagements

Aisha focuses on speaking and teaching in areas related to trauma healing for underserved communities and folks with symptoms historically viewed as treatment-resistant. (i.e. dissociative disorders, eating disorders, addictions, personality disorders, etc.).

Xe also speaks on the intersection of embodiment and culturally responsive care.

Organizational or Group Facilitation

Aisha views group facilitation in organizations as a vehicle for culture shift both within the organization and the community beyond the organization. Xe focuses on practices that reduce the impact of hierarchies and include the needs of those receiving the facilitation.

Therefore, Xe centers dialog with participating team members to understand the organizational concerns and identify the needs of the team before collaboratively tailoring a curriculum. Therefore, expect 3-4 surveying conversations either with the full team or with key members to support facilitation with greater meaning to all involved.

  • New Healing Collective Radical Rest Believes if You Free the Body, the Mind Will Follow.

T Aisha Edwards really wants to be the official White House therapist.

"If I was Donald Trump's therapist, we would live in a different America," she says with a laugh. "I'm not even playing. Quote me."

She laughs, but the sentiment is authentic. After 14 years serving marginalized communities with high-risk, out-of-control-behaviors, Edwards has come to see mental health as a way to learn how the body becomes a vehicle for oppressive systems, both in the physical world and within. She credits those insights to somatic therapy—a practice emphasizing the connection between mind and body—which is also a driving force behind the health collective she founded, Radical Rest.
